Wonderful cosy stay
Date Of Stay: 8th Nov

We had a wonderful weekend away in the shepherd's hut. It was a wet and cold November weekend. But the hut kept us warm and dry. It had everything we needed and much more. It is very well kitted out and beautifully decorated. We especially loved the fold out double bed!
All in all a perfect winter get away. We will have to come back in summer as well to enjoy it in the sun! Thanks Maria!

The lovely shepherds hut
Date Of Stay: 26-29AUG

We had a lovely stay in the cosy Shepherds hut exactly what we needed. its in a great location It's well equipped with all you need to make your stay comfortable. We used the fire pit every night for BBQ and after the food was done just to enjoy the fire with a glass of wine with the river sounding in the background. The location is peaceful and quiet. Only 30min drive away you've got Croyde or Woolacombe beach to go surfing or go for a nice walk and a similar distance to some great places in exmoor and the North Devon coast.
We will be going back for more exploring and relaxing.
Maria and Steve are great hosts and made us feel at home. What a great place!

A little haven of perfection
Date Of Stay: Aug 2019

We stayed at Keepers Watch to celebrate our birthdays away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We could not have chosen anywhere better!
The hut is delightful, everything is set out perfectly and is presented beautifully with gorgeous fabrics and excellent finishing touches.
Maria has obviously put so much thought and care into the Watch, there are lots of lovely extras and gestures which we won't list here - you need to go and find out for yourself!
The location is good for exploring around North Devon, and the Somerset border, or you could just stay at Rye Park and enjoy the river and woods.
We could say so much more but words alone just don't justify how wonderful Keepers Watch and Rye Park are.

Wonderful stay, will be booking again
Date Of Stay: 27th 28th July 2019

After hunting the web for a while I was so relieved to find exactly what I was looking for in Keepers Watch at Rye House, exmoor.
A beautifully made hut equipped with everything you could possibly need from afternoon tea on arrival, marshmallows for the fire pit along with the essentials like a good working clean shower, perfect for a relaxing few days away.
As it says in the description the hut is set in the most peaceful location absolutely perfect.
Thankyou Maria, will definitely be staying again, and recommended to all my friends!

Keepers Watch
Date Of Stay: August 2019

We loved our stay at Keepers Watch and have planned to come back next year! We were well looked after, the facilities were luxurious and surroundings beautiful. It's close enough to the North Devon coastline to visit some of the beautiful towns and beaches. It did rain the entire time we were there but it was so cosy in the Shepherds Hut with beautiful countryside just outside of the windows. I've recommended it to all my friends and will definitely be coming back!

Bucolic bliss
Date Of Stay: July 2019

Hired the shepherd's hut for one week and was lucky enough to enjoy wall-to-wall sunshine, allowing me to make the most of the local footpaths, the stream at the bottom of the hill and, further afield, Exmoor and the whole of the north Devon coast. So much to discover, including endless picturesque villages, ancient watermills, superb coves and sandy beaches, and several NT properties, all with amazing grounds, gardens and tearooms!
The hut comfortably (luxuriously, actually) sleeps two and has its own bathroom with full-size shower and bathroom. The kitchen is better equipped than my own at home, and there are many small touches designed to make your stay not only easier but more enjoyable, including a cream tea on arrival, table and chairs outside, a fire pit, extractor fans, optional heating masses of hot water and an endless supply of pure-tasting spring water from their own borehole. In addition, there are immaculate flower beds alongside the hut and a stunning view across a small valley and up towards the reservoir. The owners keep sheep and chickens, all of which are very friendly and love being petted but are at a suitable distance from the hut so as not to disturb you. In fact, the only disturbance I experienced during my whole stay was the birdsong and the gentle flutter of butterflies' wings. The coast itself is stunning, either as you drive across the moor towards Minehead or down around the headland.
The owners could not have been more helpful or friendlier and were on hand every day to answer questions or help with any practical needs like directions, tips on places to visit and so on. I can't wait to go back for another week next year and explore all the places I had no time to visit this time round!

Absolutely fantastic stay at Keepers Watch. The peaceful and private setting along with the quality of the hut is hard to beat! The hut was comfortable and well designed. Maria really has thought of everything. Evenings by the fire pit with nothing but the sounds of nature is absolute bliss. Remote but close enough to enjoy the coast of North Devon. Thank you Maria!
